Black belt gradings were held at Wakefield HQ at the weekend. We didn’t have any kick boxers at this one but we had four juniors grading in Karate on Sunday.
I was there for all of the grading and what a grading it was. Not only did they have to show all that they have learnt – 10 katas and all their techniques and combinations, but they were also put to the test on their fitness, focus and determination. The grading was 3 hours long, and focusing for this length of time at such a young age is extremely difficult.
Each and every one of them did fantastic. The effort, grit and determination they showed was brilliant and they couldn’t have given any more. It is with great pleasure and pride that the following can now be confirmed as 1st Dan Cadet in Karate:-
I look forward to seeing them progress beyond black belt and work towards their second dans. This is where the real learning begins.
At the academy this week we have “Bring a Buddy” week and can’t wait to see all your like minded friends having a go a karate or kick boxing with you. Please don’t forget if they are under 18 they need to have a parent or guardian with them. We are on the second week of kick boxing grading assessments, Saturday Special “Jedi Training Camp” is on Saturday and week 3 of the fitness bootcamp on Thursday.
Other things coming up are kick boxing and karate gradings in October, the junior sparring course on 26th October, Ladies night 2nd November.
Look forward to seeing you all in this week.
