WOW what a fantastic weekend of gradings – excellent standard throughout the day on Sunday.
The day started with our 4-7 white belts. They behaved so well, listened and worked really hard.
Next up were 4-7 higher grades, again a wonderful grading with great technique and katas.
Followed by 7-13 white belts. Many of whom were grading for the first time and were a little nervous which is totally normal. They tried really hard and there are some really promising martial artists here.
Next up were our 7-13 red and yellow belts. Many grading did much better than anticipated and this was reflected in the level of belts received – great job kids.
Then we had orange belts only. A smaller grading but that makes it even harder as there is no-where to hide and those who received their green belts will have an even harder grading next time in the higher grade section.
The high grade 7-13 (green belts and up) was a really busy one with 36 kids grading. They work they put in was outstanding and it was one of the best high grade gradings overall seen to date.
Adults and pre-dans were the last grading of the day. It was great to see so many lower grade adults grading in karate, and the high grades and 4 pre-dans who did a longer grading also did superb – there were lots of sweaty bodies at the end.
Overall an absolutely brilliant grading day with so much hard work and determination on show. Well done everyone.
Alternate kickboxing gradings were on Saturday afternoon. Again another really good grading to watch – keep up the great work everyone.
We have sparring in all karate classes this week – it will be good to see the juniors sparring and hopefully plenty of adults bringing their kits along.
Our Action Hero training camp on the 16th March is now full – it’s going to be a great seminar and we cant wait to see all the fancy dress outfits and fight scenes that are going to be created.
Not too much coming up at the minute. Black belt gradings are in March so we’ll be working hard with those who are looking to grade to make sure they are ready.
Look forward to seeing you all in lessons this week.
