Yesterday saw 6 students successful complete their gradings to 1st Dan (& 1st dan cadet).
Firstly, congratulations to Neil Harrison, Dean Wilcox, Matt Lambeth, Victoria Peckover, William Haigh and Harry Senior. It was wonderful to see so many achieving their goals after training hard for so many years, as well as putting in extra over the last few months.
Perseverance is the word that springs to mind!!! Goals and dreams are only achieved if you keep going and never give up. All of us, including kids will not want to train at times, we all go through that stage where motivation drops and it’s a real struggle to leave the house to go to the academy. Kids are even worse. They are playing with their friends and don’t want to stop, they are on their xboxes etc and don’t want to come off,
We have two choices, we give in and stop ir we push through. As parents it is up to us to make our kids continue when they dont want to, we know how good it is for them so we must make the hard choices and force them…..we all know they enjoy it when they’re there!!!!!
Giving in for an easy life will restrict our growth as individuals, it will restrict our kids and show them it’s ok to quit when the going gets tough.
Keeping going gives us days like this, when students are proud of themselves, when family and instructors are proud of them….. what better feeling is there than this!!!! What a great life lesson it is to never give up.
So next time you feel like quitting, get up and get in.. you’ll never regret it. Maje your kids come in, that hours exercise will make all the positive difference to them in so many ways.
Black belt is when you really start your learning in martial arts, and it lasts a lifetime.
Last week saw first week of kick boxing grading assessments, black friday pre sale where some great bargains were snatched up, and black belt gradings as outlined above.
Next week is week 2 of kick boxing grading assessments, week one of karate assessments and our black friday sale week is ongoing.
