Just one word WOW
What an amazing tournament today at Chuldow Knottingley region 2. So many fantastic students stepping onto the mats to do kata, creative kata, drills, point stop and continuous sparring. From 4 year olds to 63 year olds.
If you’ve not competed, it’s hard to understand how hard it is to do kata in front of people when you’re out there by yourself. To see so many students have a go (especially for the first time) is fantastic. Pushing themselves to try something new or, improve on the last time.
sparring, the nerves, being hit (even though it’s light) is hard work and tiring.
Thank you to all our students who competed. Stepping out of their comfort zones and adding another level to their learning and development. Well done to the adults too – we feel it even more than the kids!!!!
I don’t usually like the saying that it’s not the winning but the taking part that counts, but I’m going to say it this time. Yes, of course we all want to win, but regardless of where they finished, each and every person that competed today is a winner in my eyes.
Spectators – you were outstanding and without your support it would simply not have been the great day that it was – thank you.
Last week we had anti bullying week wearing odd socks (on our hands) in support of this. The kids were amazing in lessons, contributing and listening to everything said to them!!!! Children in Need kicking challenge was also completed- 10,576 kicks and £200 raised – brilliant – thank you to each and everyone of you who donated. Also week 3 of our bootcamp…..it was a killer!!!!
Next week sees week 1 of kick boxing grading assessments, black friday pre sale on the 21st (10am to 7pm) family night on the 23rd, and kick boxing black belt gradings 23rd
Watch out for the launch of the kids xmas disco and many more exciting things to cone.
